The Swedish rally is in February so I thougt we should get something competitive

Purchased an Alfa 159 touring, 4 wheel drive, 3.2 litre V6 on the 30th Dec ("The Beast"). Price-wise it was pretty much a straight swap for the X5 in Sydney. It Chews about the same amount of fuel but goes about 3 times faster and is sporty as hell. I love it! It will do 0 - 100 in about 6.5 seconds and top speed of 242km/hr. Sadly I haven't got it into 6th gear yet.
On New Years eve, before heading to Derkjan and Camilla's for a dinner I decided it was time to put The Beast through its paces on the country roads. Now I'm no rally driver but I have pplayed a bit of playstation in my time, but this was the real-deal. With snow covered it was a little hairy at times but the traction control and 4wd kept us going straight. I have worked out that the best way to do a U-turn in Sweden is to basically drop the clutch and rip on the hand barke while turning the wheel. Normally gets you facing the other way pretty quickly.
Fireworks are not banned in Sweden so I dropped about $300 on my box of ball shooters and 12 pack of rockets. Before dinner with Derkjan and Camilla we trecked to the top of a small hill in the centre of Stockholm and let them off. I was like a kid on cracker night... Muddy was a bit anxious and the kids spent most of the time with their ears covered... that might have been to stop them freezing off though.
A great dinner of crayfish and champagne followed. Derjkan and I managed to stay up till 3am just to make sure that all the booze was finished... Seemed like a good idea until Isabella thought she would start the new year 3 1/2 hours later.
